Nova Class Battlestar "Galactica". Sister ship build and companion to the Atlantia studio-scale miniature re-creation project, at roughly 75” in length. Employing many of the same model building techniques as the Atlantia, except conceived and developed using 3D computer geometry, drawn by Charles Adams. All sections were then laser-cut out of acrylic and then hand-built to serve as the basic forms over the all aluminum, non welded armature. Many of the unique portions were computer “grown”, using 3D rapid prototyping processes. As with the Atlantia, these rapid prototype parts were then molded and cast into resin to place onto the outer surfaces of the miniature. Both Atlantia and Galactica have fully integrated, speed controlled “chasing light” landing bays with backlit film copies of now classic Andrew Probert interior artwork.
